Jewelry Appraisal Procedure
Please call (858) 255-8085 or use our online booking system on our website to schedule your appointment. Â Please bring all the documents (receipts, certificates...) you have, together with the jewelry to the appointment. Â Your jewelry will be examined in a secure environment and you can wait during the process. Â If you have multiple or complex items that require more time to examine, you may choose to leave the jewelry while the examination is performed. Â We'll take photograph of your jewelry for your receipt when jewelry is left with us. Â After examination, we will conduct market research and analysis of your jewelry, a comprehensive final report will be sent to you within a reasonable time frame depending on each assignment as well as our workload (usually within a week).
Jewelry Appraisal Fees
The hourly rate for appraisal services performed in the office is $175.00. Â The minimum charge for the first item for most standard, contemporary jewelry styles will range from $150.00 to $250.00 and is based on the amount of time required for that item. Â Depending upon the size and composition of a collection, additional items may start as low as $70.00 per item. Â Intricate items might cost higher. Â
For most appraisals, we provide a fixed quote for the appraisal fee at the time the jewelry is presented. Â There is generally not a charge to quote an appraisal fee and, once quoted, fees rarely exceed the original quote. Â Any unforeseen complications will be communicated to the client if any increased fee is necessary.
